Whitsun, birds and early summer greenery
Lina's faith in God and her gaze for everything in nature merged in the early summer sweet -- but also searching -- song "Whit-sun":
Nature celebrates Whit-sun, and beautiful
the grove stands so fragrant and so green,
and a thousand birds happily sing
in the tree crowns every day and night.
But, oh my heart, what are y o u doing?
Have you celebrated Whit-sun yet?
Have you received the Spirit, say,
o, are you walking the path of life?
Tr. U.F.

I brought four of the thousand birds Lina wrote about. There are two red tails and two black caps. The heavily stylized dove with flames is the symbol, which tells of the pouring of the Holy Spirit upon the disciples on the White Sunday.
