My name is Ulla Forsberg. I live in Falkenberg on Sweden's beautiful west coast. Creating beautiful pictures in wool technic - an unusual form of Swedish art handicraft -  is a passion with me. Since the mid-1970s, I have devoted myself to my creative activities. Here on the website there are the results. With care and artistic eyes, I let the motif emerge on the panel - perhaps the very motif you as a customer wish to order.

 

Get inspired by my pictures and see different themes via the menus! The pictures for sale are unmarked and the sold ones have a red dot, but all are collected here on the website.

Technique

First of all, the wool is made free of bosses and rougher impurities. Then it is washed and colored. Often the natural color is also suitable. In the studio there are many cardboard boxes with wool, which is sorted in different shades. Can there be any softer way of depicting nature and animals than shaping the motif with wool, colored and carded or used curly as it is? The wool is not felt but is naturally soft and loose on a panel. It is held in place with glass and frame.

 

There is a saying that says "Many littles make a mickle ". In my case I say: "Many small hairs make motifs on large (or small) panels".

 

Lectures

The paintings, which are located under the menu "Lina Sandell", have brought me into yet another activity: I lecture on the interesting Swedish author and poet Lina Sandell-Berg (1832 - 1903) at congregation evenings and other occations.
